To impression the passing of another year, I’ve retired to my office in the forest to respond a few dozen random questions with uncharacteristic candor, and thank the foremost fans on Facebook with the longest post of the year. Let’s begin.

A – I think a lot of people are and ready to vote for anyone that seems vaguely reasonable and not desperate for power. I assess some people are so frustrated they’d cast a complain vote for “that TV guy from the sewer.” I’m sympathetic. I’m also flattered, but obviously, not cut out for the employment. Hell, I can barely keep my own show on the air.

A – Sure. I still think America offers the finest opportunity for those who are solemn about pursuing animation, liberty, and happiness. But, like most “isms,” I don’t see anything inherently good or terrible about “patriotism.” (Hitler loved his territory but still managed to be an asshole.)

I called it, “He Was Just Trying to Get Home.” It’s a true story about the moment two baseball players named Dusty Baker and Glenn Burke spontaneously slapped their palms together at home plate in Dodger Stadium, moments after Dusty hit a belated inning home run assist in 1978. Dusty Baker and Glenn Burke were both black men. Glenn Burke, however, was not only black, he was gay – the first openly gay player to wear a major league uniform. In the course of telling my version of this story, I made reference to the racism and bigotry that men like Baker and Burke encountered in the major leagues. Why don't people just do a teeny tiny bit of research before forwarding rumors they find on the internet? I have mentioned before that I think Mike Rowe of Dirty Jobs should be considered for People Mag's Sexiest Man Alive. Sexiest Heterosexual Dude Alive while we're at it. Not that Sexiest Homosexual Human Alive wouldn't be a perfectly acceptable alternative, if I were a guy, but I'm not. [UPDATE: He has since been included in the most recent annual issue -- even though the picture is teeny tiny.] For some reason, there is a rumor on the internet that Mike Rowe of Dirty Jobs on the Discovery Channel is gay. Someone even commented that he was gay in an entry I wrote several months ago about my crush on the guy. This person derided my obsession, which I share with many women. Didn't I comprehend he was gay? Didn't I realize he was unmarried and 46, lives in San Francisco, and always talks about his mother?
