Shane Dawson woke up feeling scared yesterday.

He had something deeply personal to share with his more than 6.7 million followers on YouTube and he was determined that this was the day.

Dawson began by saying that he has always been ‘sexually confused’ but never more so than in the past year.

‘I always wished that I was gay, that I was just 100 percent gay,’ he admitted.

Why?

‘You comprehend, number one, that would mean I knew who I was,’ he explained. ‘Number two, it would be a lot easier for me to be accepted by people. Because I wear wigs and dresses on the internet and I’m feminine and all these things. And it would be so much easier to just say, yeah, you know, I’m gay.’

But that just isn’t the case.

‘I’m not completely same-sex attracted, and I can’t sit here and say that I am… but I also can’t remain here and state that I’m straight…I’ve come to the conclusion, through therapy and through creature honest with myself, I am bisexual.’

He also observed: ‘In a lot of coming out videos, people who are gay or queer woman, t

For years, Shane Dawson has been one of YouTube’s most familiar faces, and as his celebrity has grown, so too have rumors about his sexuality. Given his somewhat flamboyant manner and his propensity to cross-dress in his videos, “Is Shane Dawson gay?” became a common question.

As it turns out, Dawson’s sexuality is a bit more complicated than just gay or vertical. In an passionate video, the YouTube star has arrive out as attracted to both genders and informed his viewers about the sexual confusion he has struggled with for most of his life.

In the video, Dawson cites other YouTubers who have come out, such as beauty star Ingrid Nilsen. He laments not being gay, as he believes it would make his admission much easier. Instead, he reveals a life of uncertainty and explains how this uncertainly has informed much of his life, such as the struggles with weight that are well-known parts of his backstory and his recent bond with fellow YouTube star Lisa Schwartz.

Ultimately, Dawson hopes his video will aid out viewers who are facing similar decisions about their sexuality. “Love who you want to love,” he says. “Life is fleeting. No one is going

Unless you live under a Twitter rock, you realize the big news that was sailing around the internet yesterday.  No, it's not Justin Bieber's buttocks (though really, at this point does this even qualify as remotely shocking for Bieber?), but instead Shane Dawson's public confession that he is bi-curious.  As a longtime fan of Shane's (whose adore has admittedly ebbedand flowed through the years), I was genuinely shocked by this pronouncement.  Unlike recent such videos by the likes of Connor Franta, Troye Sivan, and Joey Graceffa, Dawson's persona has long been built off of his "I may look gay but I am straight" persona, and his show has consistently featured his relationship with fellow YouTuber Lisa Schwartz (whom he revealed in the video he has broken up with now).  As a result, this is a video where I was less looking for details about his personal life and what would be said in that regard, but more genuinely glued to brand-new details (when you view someone's personal videos for every day for three years straight, you are very interested in such revelations).  What shocked me even more is that the coming out video, which has become almost as commonplace as

26-year-old YouTube star Shane Dawson just came out as bisexual in a video

YouTube star Shane Dawson came out as pansexual in an emotional video posted on his YouTube channel on Tuesday.

The 15-minute video has already been viewed over 1.6 million times, E! Online reports.

"I can't honestly say I'm gay. I can't honestly say I'm straight," Dawson explains in the video. "But I can honestly say that I am open to admire in any way and I guess that makes me bisexual."

Dawson has spent years struggling with his sexuality. Prior to sharing the video, he says he had only come out to one person, his therapist.

He says he often wished he was "100% gay," because being queer is more widely accepted than being bisexual, according to Dawson.

In the video, Dawson explains despite having several long-term relationships with women, including one with fellow YouTuber Lisa Schwartz,  he always felt "sexually confused."
