Samuel L. Jackson Under Conflagration For Alleged Homophobic Tweet

Tough-talking actor Samuel L. Jackson wished President Donald Trump a happy birthday on Friday, but the Twitterverse took exception to the perceived anti-gay slurs in the message and laid their vengeance upon him.

Jackson’s tweet: “Must have been a party at The White House, Mitch, Paul, Rudy & others were spotted wearing knee pads & carrying these lined up outside. Happy Birthday.”

The tweet included an image of a product called “After Dick Mints” with the tagline “Going down?”

One Twitter user asked, “Did you and Joy Reid gain hacked by the alike person?” The reference is to the MSNBC host who had several homophobic posts on her blog, but claimed she was hacked.

Actor Adam Baldwin of the late, lamented TV show Firefly asked, “Gay shaming?” He later removed the tweet. Another user directed at tweet at Capital One, asking the credit card corporation whether they endorse the language from a spokesperson.

Samuel L. Jackson tweeted an image earlier last week which many felt was homophobic. On Sunday, the unfiltered and outspoken player responded on Instagram, shrugging off the criticism.

Jackson posted a pic of a Twitter message of the reports and complaints they include been receiving from the alleged homophobic tweet. “We possess investigated the reported content and could not identify any violations of the Twitter Rules or applicable law,” the message stated. “Accordingly, we have not taken any deed at this time.”

The Incredibles 2 actor captioned the pic with a long track of laughter and the words, “They just keep tryin’,” clapping back at all those who idea his tweet was offensive.

The initial tweet which was posted on Donald Trump’s birthday sparked the controversy.
