For many, June represents the month of pride; a day to celebrate, teach and communicate all that is lgbtq+, gay and fabulous. Although today creature gay isn’t much of a deal, back in the 50’s it was a dangerous label to have. Throughout history, thousands acquire lost their lives because they were labeled as ‘gay’ or ‘queer’ and many lived out their true sexual preferences in secrecy. As it’s almost the end of Pride month, I wanted to include a look at some celebrities from the golden age of Hollywood who were gay, or at least thats what the rumours said. It’s complex to know if all these celebrities, and of course many more, were truly gay, but I wanted to share a not many stories just so see how far we’ve come. Glad pride everyone.

Hollywood and the entertainment industry have a history of being hotbeds of controversy and rumors, but many have made utilize of it as a platform to inspire and effect the masses.
It is today inhabited by people of various racial backgrounds, faiths, cultures, and even sexual orientations. Hollywood has steadfastly backed the cause in a culture where “LGBTQ+” are still stigmatized.
Since the 1980s, Hollywood celebrities have been bold in revealing their sexuality to the public, and up to this outing, Hollywood is gradually improving its portrayal of the Homosexual community.
When it comes to equal treatment and opportunity for many people in the show business industry, we still have a distant way to travel, but as the number of publicly prominent gay stars increases each year and public back for them does as well, it won’t be drawn-out until the playing field of society’s treatment is leveled.
In fact, encouraged by the drop likelihood of backlash directed at them, an increasing number of actors and singers are coming out and publicizing their gender.

List of famous gay people who were married to spouses of the contrary sex, loosely ranked by fame and popularity. Several people who have appear out as gay own been married. Some people married before they fully recognized that they were gay, while others used their marriages to store their sexuality a confidential from the public.
Who is the most famous homosexual person who was married? Elton John tops our list. The singer married Renate Blauel, a German recording engineer, in 1984. Many people in the media speculated that the marriage was to cover up John's sexuality, as he had previously stated that he was pansexual. They divorced in 1988, and John told Rolling Stone magazine that he "was comfortable being gay." He married David Furnish, who he had been in a relationship with since 1993, in 2005.
Several famous gay actors were married to women in their lives. Anthony Perkins was married to the actress Berry Berenson. The couple had two children: Oz Perkins (born 1974) and Elvis Perkins (born 1976). Perkins had several relationships with men prior to his marriage. He died from AIDS akin complications in 1992. Representation, whether plain as a bad eyebrow employment or as subtle as a carefully coordinated outfit, is tediously but surely growing for the LGBTQ+ community in Hollywood.
More and more actors are coming out and opening up about their gender, emboldened by the lesser potential for backlash aimed in their direction. While some prefer to maintain their privacy – not out of horror but out of “God, the paparazzi are getting on my nerves about this!” – others proudly announce engagements, display breakups for all the world to see, and post their vacation snaps featuring their beloved partners – and sometimes kids too!
We still aren't where we call for to be when it comes to equal treatment and opportunity for a lot of folks in Show Business but with the list of openly celebrated gay stars growing each year and the support for them following suit, it's only a matter of time before the score evens out.
