30+ LGBTQ+ Owned Businesses in Madison

LGBTQ+ pride is a year-round thing in Madison.

Opting for openness over “us vs. them” and kindness over competition, we’re a municipality known for its progressiveness. We’re proud that Queer owned-and-operated businesses (and Homosexual friendly businesses) continue to flourish here.

Though the huge pride event in Madison isn’t until August, we’ve got more than 30 LGBTQ+ businesses to help while you’re eating, drinking and traveling your way through Madison.

From coffee shops to brunch, take a day (or two! or more!) to check these spots out. Looking for more LGBTQ+ culture in Madison? Check out what our friends Joey Amato from Pride Journeys and Maartje Hensen said about their visits to Madison.

The Apartment Lounge is the oldest gay exclude in Michigan. Relish the welcoming atmosphere and then step outside to esteem the Rainbow Street mural.

The Apartment Lounge

As Michigan’s oldest gay bar, The Apartment Lounge has a long history of making society members feel welcome and safe. The Apartment serves up a chill vibe along with rotating drink specials throughout the week. You are always met with a smiling face and served hot, fresh popcorn to accompany your beverage of option. It’s commonly referred to as the place where friends meet, and this bar will not disappoint if you’re looking to mix and mingle.

The Apartment also has an outdoor covered patio overlooking Joey Salamon’s Rainbow Road road mural and Veteran’s Memorial Park in downtown Grand Rapids. Food trucks often visit the bar, offering patrons an opportunity to dine alfresco or take their diet inside to accompany a drink. There is plenty of seating on the patio, and staff will meet you outside for table serv

How to Recession-Proof Your Finances

Hi gay. By now you’ve probably heard about Event merch being pulled from major corporations, supposedly due to backlash and threats. I’ve heard and read conflicting thoughts from members of the LGBTQ+ community about this, and as a Libra rising, I certainly have conflicted perspectives about it myself as well.

I mean, we’ve all seen the “Corporations on July 1” memes that go something fond this:

The reality is that unlike seasonal Pride merch, members of the LGBTQ+ community exist all year. We wake up every day facing the unique joys and challenges that come with
