Getting here
Dayton International Airport is about 12 miles from downtown. Taxis are the optimal way to get downtown.
Getting around
Many people pick to see the capital by car, as traffic is less of a hassle that in most cities. However, Dayton has a good network of buses and streetcars that make navigating downtown a breeze. See RTA for details.
Neighborhoods
Downtown. The city’s compact gay district is located downtown where North Jefferson intersects 2nd and 3rd streets, a limited blocks from the Miami River. Most of the bars and clubs are within this block or nearby. The exception, Argos men's bar, is a bit further out, to the east.

Dayton Gay Guide and Hotels
Located in western Ohio, Dayton is the sixth-largest metropolis in the mention. Larger cities such as Columbus or Cincinnati are a one-hour drive away. Also known as the "City of Aviation", Dayton is home to the National Museum of the US Atmosphere Force, and the hometown of the Wright Brothers - the ones that invented flight. A Look at Dayton's History
Dayton was originally named after Captain Jonathan Dayton, who served in the Revolutionary War and was the youngest person to sign the United States Constitution, and who owned land in the Miami Valley area. The city was officially founded on April 1, 1796, by a dozen people known as “The Thompson Party,” who had traveled up the Superb Miami River from Cincinnati.
